Claressa Shields, also known as the self-proclaimed ‘GWOAT’ (Greatest Woman Of All Time), is making strides in the boxing industry as a whole as she continues her superstar journey to the golden halls of the greatest boxers in history with a record that is legendary, to say the least.

Claiming the title of the most decorated female boxer of all time, Claressa Shields is indeed a once-in-a-lifetime athlete in the making. Combining her supercharged personality with a talent in the boxing ring, Claressa backs up her bold statements with a strong finish every time she dances in the ring with similarly talented and experienced opponents.

Recently, Claressa won against professional boxer Maricela Cornejo via unanimous decision to further cement her place among the greatest boxers to grace this generation of fighters.

In a post-fight statement, Maricela went on to congratulate Claressa, she said, “You’ve created a movement in women’s boxing, and you really are the GWOAT (Greatest Woman of All Time)”.

It’s clear that Claressa is a respected individual both by her peers and by her rivals as well. However, her claim to glory had already started a year prior with her victory against long-time rival Savannah Marshall whom she had locked horns with as early as during their amateur boxing days.

The much-awaited fight, which occurred in the O2 Arena in London on October 2022, saw Claressa win the undisputed WBO middleweight championship. The decisive victory had permanently etched Claressa’s name as a reputable athlete worthy of the most prestigious world titles in the boxing industry as of late.

Claressa also made shockwaves in the boxing world when she became the sixth boxer in history (whether male or female) to possess all four of the major world titles in the boxing industry when she defeated Christina Hammer in 2019. These titles consisted of championships in WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO.

Moreover, Claressa also became the second female boxer in history to be able to unify all of the major boxing world titles as well. Essentially, these achievements in her illustrious career make her worthy of the title of GWOAT and the most decorated female boxer of all time.

With a career that saw her winning gold from her amateur days all the way up to becoming undefeated in her professional career and headlining championship bouts in major venues, Claressa Shields is on her way to filling up her portfolio with even more titles under her belt. And we can’t wait to see what’s next for the undisputed GWOAT.
